I took all pictures below on my spring trip to Russia in 2003.
I had a few hours to kill and I went to Lisy Nose airfield where I meet Alex Shegolev. As far as I can remember
he was always around pilots and if someone do not know him in St. Pet - they probably not DOSAAF pilots.
I am sitting in AN-2 that was flying a parachute jumpers that day. |
Close-up of me sitting in AN-2. |
AN-2 RA-00484 of St. Petersburg (Russia) Aeroclub. |
I just wanted to sit in Blanik. It still has DOSAAF markings on it. |
I flew that particular L-13 back in 80'. |
Still fit inside the cockpit, amazing! |
Alex, who was taking pictures became a trigger happy with my digital camera and took all the pictures he wanted. |
Time to move along. |
Well, when L-13 strapped - it's a bit harder to get in and out. |
Wilga, PZL-104 still towing gliders in St. Petersburg. |
I took a number of pictures of PZL-104 as I haven't seen too many good ones on the Net. |
We had to remove all covers to take pictures of Wilga. |
Wilga's dash. |
There kept tow ropes and other stuff required for glider flights. |
Another shot of PZL-104 dash and cockpit. |
I took a right seat as the left one didn't have a parachute. |
Too many memories going back in 80's. |
Just another shot of me sitting in Wilga. |
I still fit inside. |
OK, a bit too many pictures, I agree! |
Time to get out. It has been 13 years now fells like yesterday! |
Get out! Really! |
Side shot of Wilga. |
I climbed on a ladder (and nearly fall) to take this picture. Metal hangar with Jantars and Blaniks where I am heading from here can be seen behind Wilga. |
We are walking to the hangar and I just took this shot of AN-2. |
Fourth AN-2 can be barely seen behind center AN-2. |
Inside our hangar that was overtaken by parachutists. Our Jantars' and L-13's stored here. |
This was one of our best Jantars - number 59. |
Overal shot inside the hangar. You can see L-13's and Jantars here. |
